Smarmore Castle Private Clinic is a 22-bed addiction health facility situated in County Louth, Ireland. Smarmore Castle was established by the directors of Castle Craig Hospital in Scotland, which was founded in 1988 by Peter and Dr. Margaret Ann McCann, as a residential rehabilitation hospital treating people suffering from alcohol and drug addictions.
The treatment program is focused primarily on alcohol and drug addiction, prescription medications abuse and gambling addiction. The treatments are performed under the direction of a leading Consultant Psychiatrist, and the overall service is under the direction of an experienced Clinical Psychologist.
The medical and clinical staff have experience in treating many of the co-occurring disorders and issues that need to be addressed as part of an alcoholic’s or chemical dependent’s treatment plan, such as depression, stress, bereavement, anxiety, and burn-out.
